Explosion survivors resume schooling
The 258 survivors of the explosion on March 6 at a school in Wanzai County of east China's Jiangxi Province resumed schooling Monday.

"I didn't expect my son could go back to school so soon after the terrible explosion," said Lan Meixiu, mother of fourth-grader Wen Lisheng.

After consulting the parents of the survivors, the educational department of the local government arranged for the children to continue their education at 13 nearby primary schools.

Relevant departments have sent textbooks, desks and other school facilities to the lucky pupils.

Local governments will spend some 600,000 yuan (US$72,500) to construct a new school building for the devastated Fanglin Primary School.

Meanwhile, donations from all walks of life have amounted to some 31,000 US dollars-worth.

The explosion left 41 dead and 27 injured.
